Fayetteville, NC- Christy Freeman (Lumberton, NC/Lumberton High) a sophomore member of the Peace College Basketball team was named the USA South Player of the Week today after a career high performance in the Pacers’ exciting double-overtime win (83-81) over visiting Dominican University (Ill.) on Saturday. Freeman contributed a career-high 28 points, eight assists, four steals and two rebounds in the win.

Freeman is currently ranked 4th in the USA South Conference in assists per game with3.44, 4th in three point field goals made with 16, 6h in three-point field goal percentage shooting 36% beyond the arc, 7th in points per game with 13.6 8th in steals per game with 2.11, 11th in field goal percentage shooting 43% from the field, , , and.

Peace is 5-4 overall and will begin USA South Conference action on Wednesday as they travel to Rocky Mount, NC to take on the Battling Bishops of NC Wesleyan College. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
