Fayetteville,
NC – The USA South Athletic Conference announced
its All-Conference awards for women’s basketball
today and Peace College’s Christy Freeman was
named to the second team. Freeman, a sophomore guard
from Lumberton, NC (Lumberton High School) led a young
Pacer team to a 9-17 overall record this season, good
for a sixth place finish in the USA South.
Freeman led the team in scoring this season with 13.6
point per game, in assists with 3.3 per game and in
steals with 2.35 per game. Freeman was also named USA
South player of the week on January 8th after scoring
28 points to help the Pacers to a double overtime win
over visiting Dominican University. A few days later
Freeman scored a career high of 30 points as the Pacers
defeated NC Wesleyan College on January 10th. In USA
South statistics, Freeman is currently ranked 5th in
scoring, 9th in assists, 4th in steals and 7th in three
point field goals made.
