Raleigh, NC – The Peace College softball team
dropped to Keuka College today in a single game 2-4
at Wachovia Athletic Park in the heart of downtown Raleigh,
on the campus of Peace College.
The Pacers picked up two runs in the bottom of the first
inning and would not score again. Holly Braswell doubled
for an RBI bringing in Summer Evans who had reached
on an error by the pitcher and then picked up a stolen
base to advance to second. Ashley Stansbury picked up
an RBI driving in Lauren Pleasant to put Peace up 2-0
but was thrown out at first. It looked as if Peace had
the game won until the top of the seventh inning when
Keuka scored four runs on two hits and four Peace errors.
Kenni Seagroves was the only Peace player with two hits,
going 2 for 3 on the day. Seagroves picked up a single
in the bottom of the second inning and sent a shot up
the middle for a single in the last chance effort in
the bottom of the seventh. Stansbury was credited with
the loss, dropping to 6-7 for the season from the mound.
Peace fell to 17-11 overall
and will resume USA South Conference action on Thursday,
hosting the Battling Bishops from NC Wesleyan for a
