Fayetteville, NC – First year pitcher Ashley Stansbury from Rougemont, NC was named USA South Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week today after earning three wins in as many appearances last week for the Pacers. In 21.0 innings of work, Stansbury allowed eight runs, for a 2.33 ERA, on 25 hits with two walks and 14 strikeouts. In a 5-2 win over conference foe N.C. Wesleyan, Stansbury tossed a complete-game, allowing two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts. In an 8-2 non-conference win over Meredith, Stansbury again went the distance allowing one earned run on nine hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. Finally, in a 7-5 victory over USA South rival Shenandoah, Stansbury tossed a complete-game while allowing four earned runs on 11 hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
