Greensboro, NC – The Peace College tennis team
dropped a USA South Conference match today to Greensboro
College 2-7.
Peace jumped off to a bad start, falling
in all three doubles matches. At #1 doubles, Liza Bridgers/Ana
Hesmer were defeated by Carrie Pacifico/Susan Harris
8-1. Michelle Atkinson/Ellen Smith dropped to Caroline
Rose/Elizabeth Nichlos 8-1 at #2. At #3 doubles, Denishia
Craven/Krsiten Robison were defeated by Michelle Lemmons/Collins
Anderson 8-4.
In singles action, Peace picked up two wins at the #2
and #5 flights. At #1 singles, Liza Bridges was defeated
by Carie Pacifico 6-0, 6-1. Anna Hesmer picked up a
win at #2, defeating Susan Harris 6-3, 6-2. At #3, Ellen
Smith was defeated by Caroline Rose 6-3, 6-2. #4 Michelle
Atkinson dropped to Michelle Lemmons 6-1, 6-3. Kristen
Robison picked up her sixth win of the season defeating
Elizabeth Nichols 6-2, 6-1. To wrap things up, Denishia
Craven was defeated by Crystal DiBella 7-5, 6-4 at the
#6 flight.
With the loss Peace drops to 4-7 overall,
2-1 in the USA South. Peace will be in action again
on Wednesday, traveling cross town to take on the Angels
of Meredith College at 3:30 pm.
