The Peace College volleyball team defeated visiting
Guilford College in three straight games (30-14, 30-15,
30-27) and honored it's two seniors #2 Stephanie Pinnell
and #3 Jordan Morris.
Pinnell, a 5-5 defensive specialist from Louisburg,
NC started her career as a setter has accumulated over
1, 493 assists and 496 digs prior to moving into a defensive
specialist role as a senior. Morris, a 5-3 outside hitter
and defensive specialist from Mebane, NC. started her
career as an outside hitter has accumulated 528 kills.
As a defensive specialist she has posted an astounding
1, 452 digs smashing the former all-time career digs
record at Peace College of 792. Jordan is also an outstanding
student having been named to the USA South Academic
All-Conference team for three consecutive years.
The Pacers were led by Shamica Phillips who crushed
11 kills on 15 total attacks without committing an error
(.733). Sophomores, Nicole Corn and Desiree Dickens
both added 7 kills in the win. Morris sparked the defensive
effort with 16 digs on the night.
Peace moves to 12-12 overall (1-8 USA South) and will
travel cross town to take on rival Meredith College
on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Witherspoon Gymnasium.
