- The volleyball team fell to Ferrum College 1-3 and
Methodist College 1-3 in hard fought USA South quad
match. The Pacers dropped to 12-16 overall, 1-10 in
the USA South.
In the first match the Pacers fell to Ferrum College
by scores of 20-30, 17-30, 30-28, 18-30. The Pacers
couldn't find their rhythm hitting only .042 in the
match. Senior Jordan Morris and sophomore Kelsey Midgett
accounted for almost half the team's kill total as both
players recorded 7 kills in the loss. Morris also added
15 kills while Bridget Corbitt added 13 to the defensive
effort.
In the night cap, Methodist College defeated Peace by
scores of 28-30, 30-28, 32-30, 28-30 even though the
Pacers out hit, out blocked and out served the Monarchs.
Junior Kenni Seagroves led the Pacers with 14 kills,
Desiree Dickens added a career high 10 kills and Kelsey
Midgett added 8 kills and 5 blocks in the loss. Stephanie
Pinnell led the defensive effort with a career high
21 digs.
The Pacers will be in action again on Tuesday night
traveling to Newport News, VA to take on Christopher
Newport University, match time is set for 6:30 pm.
