NC– The Peace College volleyball team ended it's
regular season today with two losses at the USA South
Quad Match hosted by NC Wesleyan College. The Pacers
were defeated by Shenandoah University in the first
match 30-24, 30-28, 28-30, 21-30, 13-15. NC Wesleyan
went on to win the night cap 25-30, 26-30, 30-25, 23-30.
In the first match, sophomore Nicole Corn led the Pacers
with 15 kills, 2 errors on 44 total attacks for a .295
hitting percentage. Corn also added 20 digs. Senior,
Jordan Morris led the defensive effort with 26 digs,
while junior Erin Pike added 16 in the loss. Sophomore,
Kelsey Midgett finished the match with 10 klls, 2 errors
on 20 total attacks. Sophomore Desiree Dickens and junior
Shamica Phillips colleceted a career high 6 block assists
a piece.
In the loss to NC Wesleyan, Corn led all hitters with
13 kills, Midgett added 10 and Phillips added 8 kills
with only 2 errors on 16 total attacks for a hitting
percentage of .375. Morris, Corn and Pike once again
led the defensive effort with 26, 19 and 14 digs in
the loss.
Peace ended the regular season at 12-19 overall, 1-13
in the USA South. Peace will travel to Danville, VA
on Tuesday to take on #1 seeded Averett University in
the Quater-finals of the USA South Conference Tournament.
Match time is set for 7:00 pm.
