Danville, VA – The Peace volleyball team ended the season on Tuesday with a loss to USA South regular season champions Averett University in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament. Peace fell in three games (16-30, 11-30, 15-30) to the Cougars, who would go on to advance to the NCAA division III national tournament.

Shamica Phillips and Kelsey Midgett both paced the Peace offense. Both players, who will return next season, recorded five kills a piece in the match. Jordan Morris and Nicole Corn led the defensive efforts by recording 10 and 11 digs respectively. Setter Erin Pike had eleven total set assists to lead the Pacers, while Bridgett Corbitt chipped in another eight.

Peace finishes the season 12-20 overall (1-13 USA South). The Pacers will only lose two seniors off of the 2006 squad. Jordan Morris and Stephanie Pinnell donned the green and white for the last time in the contest. Morris (Mebane, NC) eclipsed a number of records in her time at Peace and leaves her name in the books as the best all time in a number of categories. Pinnell (Louisburg, NC) battled back from a broken back she suffered in a serious car accident in the spring of 2005 to finish her career in brave fashion.
