Peace Volleyball Falls in USA South Quad Meet
Ferrum and Methodist bests Pacers in two weekend matches

Fayetteville, NC- The Peace College volleyball team dropped two matches on Saturday in Fayetteville, North Carolina at the Methodist College USA South Quad Meet falling to Ferrum College 1-3 and Methodist College 0-3. The Pacers played well, but could not pull out the close one to secure a victory versus two conference foes.

In the opening match Peace played Ferrum extremely close in all four games, but it was just not enough to knock off a very improved Panther team. Ferrum took game one by a score of 24-30, but Peace bounced back in the second game winning 30-27. Ferrum edged Peace in game three by a score of 27-30 and would go on to win game four 12-30 to give the Panthers the win.

Shamica Phillips led the Pacers with five kills in the opening contest while Nicole Corn chipped in fourteen digs in the losing effort. Erin Pike recorded three service aces and also led the team with seven set assists versus the Panthers.

In the night cap home team Methodist College snuck by Peace in three games (24-30, 29-31, 28-30) to take the win. This time is was Bridgett Corbitt who came up big with nineteen serve assist and added six digs. Nicole Corn led the team with nine kills in the match, but Kelsey Midgett was not far behind with eight of her own. Corn also led the team in digs by grinding out sixteen in the contest. Jordan Morris and Kenni Seagroves also added thirteen digs respectively.

Peace falls to 6-5 overall (0-3 USA South) and will return to action when defending USA South Champion Christopher Newport University visits Raleigh on Wednesday September 20th. Game time is set for 7:00 PM at the Hermann Center on the campus of Peace College.
