Raleigh, NC--The
Pacers lost an aggressive battle tonight against the
Bishops of NC Wesleyan (66-54) in their first home game
in six weeks. Peace led early in the first half (17-10)
when NCW called a timeout. At that moment the Bishops
began to whittle away at the Pacer lead going on a 10-0
run during a 4-minute stretch late in the period.
Sophomore guard Candra Hill (Clinton,
NC/Clinton) sparked the Pacer offense several times
during the game as she finished with a team-high 14
points. Typically a defensive force for Peace recording
3 steals in tonight's loss, Hill stepped her game when
the team needed to score.
But Peace once again struggled with
fouls putting junior forward Lauren Seeger (Greensboro,
NC/Page) and sophomore guard LeAnne Horne (Monroe, NC/Parkwood)
on the bench for much of the game. Seeger led her team
with 9 rebounds adding 9 points. Sophomore forward Brenna
Mickey added 8 points to the Pacer loss along with 3
rebounds from inside. Mickey continues to improve her
inside game and will assist this team even more as the
season progresses.
Peace travels this weekend to Christopher
Newport and Shenandoah Universities for the annual trip
to Northern Virginia. Get ready for next week's home
contest against the Avenging Angels of Meredith College.
This will be the first conference meeting between these
two programs since Meredith joined the USA South this
fall. Come early to claim your seat. Tip-off at 7:00pm.
See you on the sidelines!
