Raleigh, NC--The
Pacers lost a game that seemed closer than the results
show (67-52). Peace continued to get stops on defense
creating offensive opportunities. Unfortunately, the
Pacers could not break into a run to cut the Monarch
lead.
Junior local Brittany Lynn (Raleigh,
NC/N Raleigh Christian) led all with 15 points, shooting
5-6 from the line. Lynn also added 4 rebounds and 4
steals. Sophomore forward Brenna Mickey (Winston-Salem,
NC/N Forsyth) grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds and added
3 points to the total. Junior guard Christy Freeman
added 9, scoring 1 from behind the arc. In her 19 minutes
prior to falling with a knee injury, junior forward
Lauren Seeger (Greensboro, NC/Page) grabbed 6 rebounds
and added 8 points. Seeger also recorded 4 steals for
her defensive efforts.
Senior guard Courtney Bissette led
with 10 points for the Monarchs. Junior guard Dezzire
Gilliard added 9 and grabbed 8 rebounds in the win.
Junior forward Ann Forsberg also grabbed 8 rebounds
and recorded 8 points in the game.
