Raleigh, NC--The
Pacers defeated Hollins University of Roanoke, VA Sunday
at the Hermann Student Center in front of a sizeable
holiday crowd. The offensive finesse of sophomore guard
LeAnne Horne (Monroe, NC/Parkwood) during the 2nd half
set the pace down the stretch for Peace. Horne had 5
steals and 14 points for the day and added 5 rebounds
in the win. Junior guard Christy Freeman (Lumberton,
NC/Lumberton) added 12 points and 2 assists for the
Pacers. Junior Amanda Cross (Clemmons, NC/Bishop McGuiness)
added a key 3-point field goal to continue the momentum
for her team. Cross finished with 7 points.
Junior forward Lauren Seeger (Greensboro,
NC/Page) grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds in the win adding
4 points on the day. First-year Margaret Minton (Oak
Ridge, NC/Bishop McGuiness) recorded a team-high 4 assists
during her 15 minutes on the floor as well as a 3-pointer
in the 2nd half. Sophomore forward Emily Deal (Millers
Creek, NC/West Wilkes) gave the Pacers solid minutes
adding 6 rebounds and 2 points in the win. Junior forward
Brittany Lynn (Raleigh, NC/N Raleigh Christian) had
3 steals, 6 points, and 6 rebounds for the day.
Peace continues their home stretch
playing host to Otterbein College of Westerville, NC
Tuesday, November 27 at 7:00pm. The Pacers then enter
a 3-game stretch on the road beginning with Wesleyan
College of Macon, GA Saturday, December 1.
