Cary, NC--Junior Raleigh native Ashley Simms was one of only two Pacers in Saturday's Adidas Wolfpack Cross Country Invitational held at SAS Soccer Complex in Cary. Simms ranked 39 of 73 runners in the 5,000 meter run (23:14.00), a 3rd place finish among the DIII schools in the competition. First-year Amanda Etheridge from Powells Point, NC ranked 9th among her DIII counterparts (28:49.00). In spite of the downpouring rain that began two minutes into the race, Coach King was very pleased with his team's performance.

The Pacers will continue the season in Greensboro this Saturday, September 22 at the Old North State Invitational hosted by Guilford College.
