Cary, NC--The
Pacers played with control, energy, and teamwork today
at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary. Both teams closed the
first period scoreless, but the Pacer midfield was clearly
in control. The North Carolina midfielders sophomores
Haley Bright from Snow Hill and Randal McLean of Lumberton,
along with junior Brittany Ostlund of Kill Devil Hills
led a 22-5 attack on the goal. The trio continued the
Pacers push in the 2nd period outshooting their competitors
17-7. McLean led the offense with 13 shots followed
by Sophomore Harlonda Smith from Huntersville, NC who
closed the day with 9.
First-Year sweeper Katelynn Spencer
wins the hustle award for her tenacity and competitive
drive. She battled against the Vixens time and again
to keep the goal clear. She helped on the offensive
end as well recording one shot on goal.
The Pacers meet Randolph College at
SAS Soccer Park Sunday, September 9th at 1:00pm to close
out the weekend. This team is only minutes away from
