Winston-Salem, NC--Peace College lost to the Lady Bears of Salem College 2-6. Both Pacer goals were scored by sophomore forward Harlonda Smith of Huntersville, NC bringing her total to 5 for the season. Smith scored the first goal early in the first period with an assist from teammate Haley Bright, sophomore midfielder from Snow Hill, NC. Salem pushed back with 3 unassisted goals in the same half.

Fifteen minutes into the 2nd period, Smith scored a breakaway goal to bring the score to 2-3. The Pacers continued to compete but Salem scored 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd half to finish the match.

Smith led the Pacers with 5 shots for the match. Teammates first-year Megan Franklin and sophomore Randal McLean added 2 a piece. First-year goal keeper Sherry Revels of Apex, NC claimed 14 saves for the match.

The Pacers travel Monday to Virginia to play the Wasps of Emory & Henry College (4-0-1). Join the Pacers back in action at the SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC as they open conference play on Wednesday, September 19 at 4:00pm.
