Raleigh, NC--The
Pacers bring home their 2nd win defeating the Hawks
of Huntingdon College. Sophomore mid-fielder Haley Bright
gave Peace control in the final seconds with her 3rd
goal for the afternoon. Bright scored from sophomore
Randal McLean's corner kick. McLean added 6 shots for
the Pacers. Sophomore forward Harlonda Smith assisted
Bright's first goal at the 59:37. With 10 shots for
the day Smith helped the Pacer offense pressure the
Hawks' goalie during the 2nd period. Senior captain
Brittany Ostlund assisted Bright's 2nd goal at 70:22.
Ostlund challenged the Hawks in the middle.
Sophomore defender Mary Caitlin Smith
defended the back field during the match. Her defensive
kicks were on target and under control. She pressured
the Hawks each time down the field. Smith also added
3 shots for the Pacers to force the Hawks to react to
her pressure. First-year goalie Sherry Revels had 7
saves in the decision.
Peace takes the field again Saturday,
October 13 hosting USA South member Ferrum College.
The match begins at 5:00pm at the WRAL-CASL Soccer Center.
