Pacers Dealt a Tough Loss

Raleigh, NC--Visiting Ferrum College dealt Peace College a tough loss Friday night at the WRAL Soccer Complex. Ferrum, netting 2 goals in the 1st half, struck 1st on the attack with a goal by Corrine Musanti assisted on the cross by Jessica Lively 10 minutes into the 1st half. Ferrum quickly added to the scoreboard again on the unassisted goal by Jessica Lively.

The Panthers came out firing in the 2nd half with 2 goals by Cassandra Meredia. Leigh McKrusker, Lea McMillan, and Sarah Palastro each contributed a goal to the Ferrum College offensive arsenal. Ferrum outshot the Pacers 43 to 13 on the day.

For the Pacers Mary Caitlin Smith (Lumberton, NC/Lumberton) and Randal McLean (Lumberton, NC/Lumberton) teamed up with a great effort on the defensive end. Katelynn Spencer (Albemarle, NC/Albemarle) played tough in the back for the Pacers providing key defensive stops throughout the game. In the net Sherry Revels (Apex, NC/Apex) tallied 19 saves on the night.

The Pacers fall to 2-9-1 (0-5) USA South) while Ferrum College improves to 2-9-1 (2-3 USA South). The Pacers face-off in another USA South Conference match against Averett University at Noon at WRAL..
