Raleigh, NC--The Pacers opened up the 2008 season with a loss today to the Jaguars of Spelman College, Atlanta, GA (9-0). The Jaguars won the 2006 Great South Athletic Conference Tennis Championship defeating Piedmont College.

Peace first-years Lauren Marion (Greensboro, NC/SE Guilford) and Katie Lamb (Kitty Hawk, NC/First Flight) put up the biggest fight for the Pacers today at the #1 doubles position losing 8-4 to the Jaguars Veronica Smith and Sierra Mullen. Marion lost her singles match at the #1 spot 6-3, 7-5. Lamb scored in her singles loss 6-4, 6-2.

Peace travels Sunday to Winston-Salem, NC to face-off the Spirits of Salem College and then to Mount Olive College Tuesday. The Pacers return to a home court advantage Thursday hosting Meredith College at 3:30pm. See you on the sidelines!
