Newport News, VA -- Peace dropped a tough 9-0 match in Newport News, VA versus USA South leader Christopher Newport University who ranks #11 nationally. The Pacers move to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action. The Captains improve to an uncontested 13-0 overall, 3-0 USA South.

Only senior Ella Dickens (Sanford, NC/Western Harnett) and Lucy Mauney (Southern Shores, NC/Manteo) earned a game in their singles matches at the number three and four spots, respectively. Mauney and number two doubles partner Katie Lamb (Kitty Hawk, NC/Manteo) scored a game in their 8-1 loss versus the strong Captains squad.

The Pacers enter a tough four-game home stretch beginning Tuesday, April 1 versus Methodist University. The Monarchs lead the league 4-0. The team hosts non-conference NC Central University Thursday at 3:30pm. Peace closes with a 1:00pm Saturday league match with Shenandoah University and a morning test on Sunday versus Mary Baldwin.
