The Pacers lost a close five-game match to the NCAA DII Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State in the season opener. Led by the offensive leadership of junior Nicole Corn. The Pacers alternated games with the Lady Vikings who won the deciding game by five. Corn finished the match with 7 of the team's 39 kills and 15 digs. Freshman Elizabeth Evanoff of Eastern North Carolina added 9 kills in her college debut. To finish 1-1 for the day, Peace College defeated the Lady Bears of Salem College 3-1. The Pacers won a close first game 33-31 but let up in the second. The team rallied back and won decidely in game 4.
