Elizabeth
City, NC--The Pacers lost a tough 3-game match at Elizabeth
City State University tonight. The squad responded each
game with a closer spread to finish the night with the
3rd game losing 30-27. Senior setter Erin Pike led Peace
with 17 set assists, 9 digs and a single ace. Stephanie
Sports led the defense with 11 digs from the backline.
Junior Nicole Corn added 10 digs for her team, 9 kills,
1 assist and a service ace.
The frontline attack struggled but
senior middle Shamica Phillips led with 9 kills of 22
attempts in the loss. Phillips also recorded 2 blocks
and 3 digs. Senior setter Bridget Corbitt gave her squad
12 assists, 5 digs, and an ace.
The Pacers will spend fall break in
Washington, DC at the Gallaudet University Fall Break
Tournament. Visit www.gopeacepacers.org for box scores
and stories while the Pacers travel. The squad returns
to Raleigh Saturday, October 13 hosting Shenandoah University
and NC Wesleyan College in a USA South Conference Tri-Match.
Peace College Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC)
initiates a campus-wide effort to raise food for a local
charity this month. Please bring canned food products
with you to the match for collection at the door. |
