Winston-Salem, NC--Peace College traveled
to Winston-Salem tonight to wrap up a 4-match season
with the Lady Bears of Salem College. The Pacers add
a win to the record finishing 3-2 (24-30, 20-30, 30-27,
30-19, 15-11). Losing the first 2 games of the night,
the team pulled together to finish strong.
Senior setter Bridget Corbitt led
the night with 13 assists, 2 aces, and 8 digs. Juniors
Stephanie Sports and Tiffany DeLeone each added 8 digs
for the Pacers. First-year Breanne Hinnant led the front-line
attack with 10 kills in the win. Hinnant also gave the
Pacers solid defense adding 5 digs and 4 blocks. Her
counter-part first-year Kerra Gore had a good night
with 8 kills and 6 blocks.
The Pacers get back into conference
action Thursday travelling to Danville, VA for a 7:00pm
match with Averett University. The team is back at home
Saturday hosting a conference tri-match with Shenandoah
University and NC Wesleyan. Play begins at Noon for
the Pacers.
The Peace College Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee will collect canned foods at the
final 3 home matches including Saturday's tri-match.
Thank you for your contributions. Collected items will
be donated to a local charity next month.
