Newport News, VA-The Pacers close out the season in Newport News and Christopher Newport in Round 1 of the USA South Conference Tournament versus Meredith College. The Avenging Angels took the match in 3 to advance to the night's 2nd match with #1 Christopher Newport. CNU swept the Avenging Angels and moves to the Semi-Finals on Saturday against NC Wesleyan. Averett University and Greensboro will play the 1st Semi-Final match.

Peace fell to 10-25 (3-15 USA South) to finish the 2007 season. First-year Breanne Hinnant led the Pacers with 11 kills in the match. Senior setter leaders Bridgett Corbitt and Erin Pike led the team with 17 and 16 assists, respectively. This duo leaves a large hole in the Pacer offense for Coach Beverly Lineberger to fill for next season. Pike had a double-double with 10 digs in the match as well.

Senior Stephanie Sports picked up a match-high 16 digs, adding 2 assists and a kill for her team. Hinnant recorded 14 digs in the loss.

Peace Volleyball loses 4 key players this year but returns a solid arsenal of options on the floor. The Pacer community congratulates the team on a good season and looks to more excitement in 2008. See you on the sidelines!
