The
Peace College Hall of Fame was established in 2001 primarily
to recognize and preserve the memory of superior athletic
careers of former student-athletes. The purpose is to
recognize those individuals who made exceptional contributions
to Peace College in the field of athletics, either by
virtue of their performance on athletic teams or by
meritorious efforts in years after leaving the College.
Championship and other exceptional teams also are eligible
for Hall of Fame consideration.
The 1976-77 basketball team, with an overall record
of 20 wins vs. only 8 losses, was the runner-up in the
1977 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women
(AIAW) National JC/CC Tournament. Its final national
ranking - 2nd - is the highest for any Peace College
team in any sport. The team was selected as the inaugural
inductee into the Peace College Athletic Hall of Fame.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Criteria for Former Student-athlete Nominee
• Former student-athletes must be at least five
(5) years removed from Peace College. •
The nominee must have earned at least two (2) letters
in a varsity intercollegiate sport. • Priority
will be given to nominees who are graduates of Peace
College; however non-graduates with special circumstances
or credentials may be considered. • The
nominee is to be regarded for sportsmanship as well
as establishing a history of involvement in sports.
• Particular consideration will be given to nominees
who earned All-Region and /or All-America honors.
Criteria for Peace College Personnel
Nominees • The coach or administrative
nominee need not be a former Peace College student,
but must have served the college for a minimum of three
(3) years. • Athletic trainer and team manager
nominees must have served in that capacity a minimum
of four (4) years. • Nominees will be considered
on the basis of exemplary and meritorious service, dedication,
impact on the program, and recognized standards of achievement.
Criteria for Team Nomination
• Teams are eligible for nomination when they
are a minimum of ten (10) years removed from the season
of competition. Nominations
Nominations may be made by any member of the Peace College
community including alumnae, former and present coaches,
administrators, and student-athletes.
Nomination applications will be included at least annually
in campus publications and in the athletics newsletter.
