Peace Senior Athletes Recognized on Class Day
Raleigh, NC -- Three Peace College student-athletes were recognized during Tuesday's Class Day celebration. Incoming class officers are installed and campus leaders recognized during this annual event. LeAnne Horne, Randal McLean, and Brenna Mickey each received Outstanding Senior awards for their contributions to Peace College and their Peace sisters as members of this year's senior class. These award recipients are nominated by their peers and recognized by the Peace community as outstanding women.
Horne and Mickey each lettered four years in basketball at Peace and captained the 2009-2010 team. Horne earned USA South all-conference honorable mention recognition as a junior and senior. Horne served as a resident assistant this year and is an active member of other clubs and organizations on campus.
McLean was one of a core group of leaders committed to the Pacer soccer program during the last four seasons. She captained the team two years and earned the league's all-sportsmanship honor as a senior. Among her accomplishments off the court, McLean serves as president of the college's new ODK leadership honor society as well as vice-president of the biology club. She is an active member of SAAC and a president's ambassador.
Mickey represented Peace on this year's USA South women's basketball all-sportsmanship team. She serves as the co-graphic design editor of The Peace Times, the college's newspaper. Mickey added to a strong design portfolio assisting other groups and individuals on campus with publications, tee shirts, and other communications.
Congratulations Pacers!
