JEANNIE GREY BIERCE OUTSTANDING ATHLETE AWARD
The Bierce Most Outstanding Athlete Award is given annually to the student-athlete deemed to have had the greatest impact on the College’s athletic program during the current academic year. The recipient must compete on a minimum of one intercollegiate team. Two-sport athletes and individuals who earn regional or national recognition will be given special consideration. Team and individual statistics, team and individual records, in-season awards, and other factors that demonstrate on-court/field/course excellence will weigh heavily in the voting.
This award was established to honor Jeannie Grey Bierce, ’86. Bierce was a scholarship member of the Peace College basketball team. Jeannie Bierce lost her battle with ovarian cancer on August 3, 2001. She was 35 years old.
