JEANNIE GREY BIERCE OUTSTANDING ATHLETE AWARD

The Bierce Most Outstanding Athlete Award is given annually to the student-athlete deemed to have had the greatest impact on the College’s athletic program during the current academic year.  The recipient must compete on a minimum of one intercollegiate team.  Two-sport athletes and individuals who earn regional or national recognition will be given special consideration.  Team and individual statistics, team and individual records, in-season awards, and other factors that demonstrate on-court/field/course excellence will weigh heavily in the voting.

This award was established to honor Jeannie Grey Bierce, ’86.  Bierce was a scholarship member of the Peace College basketball team.  Jeannie Bierce lost her battle with ovarian cancer on August 3, 2001.  She was 35 years old.
