Peace College Softball Player Ashley Stansbury Named to Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Team

Raleigh, NC - Peace College’s Ashley Stansbury was named to the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region team Monday as announced by the National Fastpicth Coaches Association (NFCA). Stansbury was named to the 2nd team All-Atlantic Region Team as an At-Large bid after a very successful first season at Peace.Stansbury led the team to it’s first 25 win season as the Pacers posted an overall record of 25-13, 7-7 in the USA South Conference for a 4th place finish in the league. Stansbury was the only Pacer to be named to the first team All-USA South this season.

As a pitcher, Stansbury was named USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Week on April 9th and totaled a 9-9 record on the season from the mound. She threw one shutout this season with a 1-0 win over regionally ranked Greensboro College. Stansbury had an ERA of 2.66 on the season and struck out 100 batters in just 116 innings. As a hitter, Stansbury led the team in RBI’s with 48 on the season (1st in the USA South). She was also second on the team in home runs with 10 (2nd in the USA South). Stansbury ended the season with a .364 batting average.
