Three Peace Softball Players Named To NFCA All-Atlantic Region Team

  Three Peace Softball players were named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA DIII All-Atlantic Region Teams as announced by the NFCA on Friday.
Senior Niki Dobbins was named to the first team All-Atlantic Region, after a successful career at Peace.

Dobbins ended this season with a batting average of .309 as the team finished 6th in the USA South Athletic Conference. Dobbins holds three career records at Peace including at bats, runs and hits. Dobbins was also named to the second team All-Conference in the USA South for the third consecutive year. Dobbins was the first Peace Softball player to earn a first team All-Atlantic Region spot.

Junior Lauren Pleasant was named to the second team All-Atlantic Region, after yet another stellar year at Peace. Pleasant, a pitcher suffered an elbow injury this season and was moved to center field when she began struggling from the mound early in the season. Pleasant led the conference in on base percentage, finished second in batting average with a .462 and was third in doubles per game with 14. Pleasant was named to the first team All-Conference in the USA South for the second consecutive year, after earning Rookie of the Year honors her Freshman year.
Sophomore Nicole Shoemaker headed up the third team as she was fifth in on base percentage in the conference. This season Shoemaker earned a spot on the USA South Honorable Mention Team as a catcher.
