Pacer Softball Opens at Guilford

Greensboro, NC--The Pacer softball team opened the season today in Greensboro, NC losing 2 to the Quakers of Guilford College. The Pacers opened the first in the day's double header with sophomore veteran Ashley Stansbury (Rougemont, NC/Northern Durham) in the circle. Stansbury led Peace hitting 1-2 with 2 RBIs. Stansbury doubled to center field scoring Joanie Blevins (Thurmond, NC/East Wilkes) and Courtney Long (Nakina, NC/S Columbus). Senior first baseman Holly Braswell (Raleigh, NC/Garner) scored Stansbury on a single to left field. First-year short stop Jessica Hogan (Denton, NC/SW Randolph) added 2 singles in 3 attempts in the loss.

The Quakers finished off the day defeating Peace 8-0 in the nightcap. Braswell recorded the lone hit for the Pacers with a left field single in the 4th.

Peace opens up at home on Sunday, February 24 hosting a double header with the Vixens of Sweet Briar College. First pitch at Wachovia Athletic Park thrown at 1:00pm. See you on the sidelines!
