Pacers to Host Strike Out Cancer Event
Raleigh, NC -- The Peace College softball team will host USA South rival Meredith College Sunday, March 28, in this year's Strike Out Cancer game as part of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association breast cancer awareness initiative. The NFCA partners annually with the American Cancer Society to leverage the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of fastpitch softball by increasing cancer awareness and promoting healthy living.
The Pacers will visit the Independence Village of Olde Raleigh, a local retirement community serving active seniors, in the days leading up to the game to meet with cancer survivors and other senior fans. Peace will host several residents at Sunday's doubleheader as well.
Grand Slam USA will sponsor a raffle during the March 28 game, and all monies collected will go to the American Cancer Society. Tickets will be available during the game.
Fans can come early to join in the tailgate festivities sponsored by the Peace College Campus Activities Board. Lunch and pregame fun will be located on the lawn between New Res and the Wachovia Athletic Park beginning at 11:00 am. See you on the sidelines!
