Softball Pacers Earn Academic Honor
Raleigh, N.C. - Four Peace College softball players received academic acclaim this month from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Allison Gilmore, Lindsey Haver, Kasie Moore, and Lindsey Moore earned at least a 3.5 grade point average during the 2009-2010 academic year to receive this honor. Lindsey Moore earned a perfect 4.0 average for the year.
"Collegiate athletes are so many times measured by success on the field of play, and their academic achievements go unnoticed or are not the focus of headlines and accolades," noted Head Coach Charlie Dobbins. "Cheers to the determination and resolve of these four softball standouts to be the best they can be!"
Each of these student-athletes consistently earns recognition for academic success. In addition to the NFCA honor, all four student-athletes earned placement on the USA South's all-academic team each year as a Pacer. Student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA each of the two semesters in a given academic year to receive this award.
The 2011 softball season opens with the N.C. Central University Invitational at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, February 12. Pacer fans can follow all home softball games through live stats this spring. See you on the sidelines soon!
