Since that time his teams continued to improve and established itself as a leader in both the USA South Athletic Conference and NCAA Atlantic Region.

He led the young 2010 squad to a nearly .500 finish (20-22) winning 11 of 18 games at home and taking seventh place in USA South regular season standings.

The 2008 season culminated in the program's longest conference tournament run thus far with a 2-2 finish and 27 wins overall. The Pacers earned their first all-tournament spot as well.

Dobbins was the driving force behind the successful bid that awarded Peace College and the City of Raleigh the NCAA DIII National Softball Championships in 2005 and 2006.

His blueprint for success stretches 35 years in the sport of fastpitch softball. As a player and coach, he has led teams to sixteen National Championships. As a professional, he toured with the World famous King and His Court and King of Diamonds fast-pitch teams and continues his unique role with the Court.

Dobbins has served on many softball related committees. Most recently, he was the NCAA Atlantic Region representative on the NFCA/USA Today Division III Top 25 Committee. Dobbins currently represents the NCAA Atlantic Region as a member of the NFCA Division III All-America and Coaching Staff of the Year Committee.

Dobbins is a 1981 graduate of Roger Williams University (Division III) in Bristol Rhode Island where he played varsity baseball and football. Dobbins represented the United States at the 2006 Spanish Cup in Barcelona, Spain as the Head Coach of a USA Athletes International Softball Team.
