Pacer Basketball Falls at Home
Raleigh, NC--The Pacers fought hard tonight in the final home game of the season losing to The Pride of Greensboro College 74-53. The Pacers maintained a small margin much of the first period and were within 2 points at the 2:11 mark. The Pride finished the half with a 7-0 run to go into the locker room up by 9 points. Greensboro pulled away for good holding a double-digit lead from 14:51 in the second half.
Junior guard LeAnne Horne (Monroe, NC/Parkwood) led the Pacers with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Junior guard Christy Freeman (Lumberton, NC/Lumberton) led the Pacers with 4 assists adding 7 points from the field. First-year Kayla Mitchell (Walnut Cove, NC/West Stokes) added 8 points in her 10 minutes shooting 2-2 from behind the arc. First-year Emma Weavil (Kernersville, NC/R.B. Glenn) added 4 assists as well.
For The Pride Danielle Duncan recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds. Dione Eccles added 18 points shooting a perfect 6-6 from the stripe.
The Pacers travel next to USA South's
4th seeded Ferrum College for a Friday night 7:00pm tip-off in
Virginia. The squad rounds out the regular season Saturday
afternoon at Mary Baldwin College with a 2:00pm start. Check out
