Pacers Lose a Tough One Against the Spirits
Winston-Salem, NC --The Pacers lost a tough game on the road tonight versus the Spirits of Salem College (71-61). Peace led early but lost momentum late in the first period. Peace jogged into the locker room at the half down by 7 points. The Spirits controlled the second half. Peace came within 4 points of Salem with nearly 4 minutes left but could not top their opponent. Junior guard Christy Freeman (Lumberton, NC/Lumberton) scored each of her game-high 17 points in the second half, 15 of these from behind the arc. Freeman also led her team with 7 rebounds. In spite of these efforts, Peace College failed to regain control.
Junior guard Amanda Cross (Clemmons, NC/Bishop McGuinness) led the first half Pacer attack with 13 points. Cross added 4 more in the second half. Classmate junior Brittany Lynn (Raleigh, NC/North Raleigh Christian) added 10 points and 2 rebounds for the Pacers.
