Bridges Tops Career High in Win Over Bishops
Raleigh, NC -- Sophomore point guard Megan Bridges led Peace to a 69-52 league win Wednesday night over North Carolina Wesleyan with a career-high 18 points, including 8-10 from the stripe. Patient ball movement in the second half combined with 91.7% from the free throw line helped the Pacers manage a solid win over NCW.
The fans enjoyed a good battle in the first period, but Peace steadied the half with a 10-0 run to enter the break up by 11. PC continued the charge in the opening minutes of the second and pushed the lead to 20.
The Bishops Imani Graham capped off an 8-0 run to pull her team within striking distance at just under 11 to play. But Bridges followed with 3-4 free throw shooting to set the pace for a win.
Brenna Mickey tied her career-high at Peace scoring 14 points on 5-6 shooting from the field and 4-4 from the line. Teammate LeAnne Horne topped all with six assists. She added 15 points, including 5 perfect from the free throw line.
Samantha Urquhart led NC Wesleyan with 16 points, six rebounds. Meredith Mills and Graham combined for 22 in the loss.
