Peace College Camp Swish

Camp runs from July 18-20 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Camp Swish premiered in 2009 and was developed by Jeff Jennings, an 8-year Clayton Parks and Recreation volunteer coach. Coach Kelly Johnson of the Peace Pacers will host the camp at the beautiful Peace College campus located in downtown Raleigh. We hope you'll join coach Johnson as he and his players volunteer their time to teach your daughter various basketball skills for a valuable learning experience.

Peace College Camp Swish targets rising 7th, 8th & 9th grade girls! Each night, campers will receive personal instruction on basketball fundamentals, individual skills and team play from coach Kelly Johnson and his players. Each evening will end with a scrimmage game where the girls can put what they learned to work. Peace College Camp Swish is for girls who wish to learn a variety of drills that can be practiced and developed so that their own personal skills will improve. The camp is for girls who have some basketball experience and plan to play middle-school and high school ball. Peace College Camp Swish is limited to the first 30 campers who sign up by June 3rd!

MEET the Coach

Kelly Johnson, Peace College

Peace AD and Coach for 7 years

Coach Johnson has been the director of athletics and head basketball coach at Peace College for seven years. During his tenure, seven Pacers were named to the USA South's women's basketball All-Conference team and 27 to the league's All-Academic team. Johnson currently serves as the president of the USA South and will conclude the two-year term in May 2011. Johnson spent 20 years teaching and coaching at Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston, North Carolina where he served as the varsity boys' head basketball coach and as director of athletics. His '01 basketball team made it to the NCISAA state championship game and were semifinalists in '97 and '02.
