Peace falls on road at Hollins

Roanoke, Va. - Playing the back end of consecutive games with a depleted roster, the Peace Pacers came out on the short side of a 64-49 score in their non-conference road game against Hollins University Sunday afternoon.

Once again Peace was down to seven healthy bodies. Another repeating theme was the team's inability to score in the first half. After shooting just 16% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes on Saturday, the Pacers converted just 6-24 shots in the first half Sunday.

Hollins (3-4) made 17-39 shots in the first half and jumped out to a 36-12 advantage before Peace rallied to score the final six points before intermission.

Jasmine Greene led the hosts with 15 points while Brandi Chesne came off the bench to kick in 12. Lacie Moore added 8 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Freshman Callie Yohn had another strong game for the Pacers. After missing time on Saturday after getting poked in the eye, Yohn responded with a double-double as she contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Krystal Williams was the only other scorer in double digits, as she contributed 13 points.

Peace (0-7) continued to improve from the charity stripe, as it converted a season-high 70.8% from the line on 17-24 shooting. Rachel Lyons converted 5-6 attempts and Williams made 4-5 foul shots.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday night when they travel to face the Salem Spirits. They return home on the 17th for their final non-conference game of the season, when they host the Loras (Iowa) Duhawks at 2:00 PM.
