Cougars explode past Pacers

Fayetteville, N.C. – The Peace Pacers dropped a 66-44 decision to conference foe Methodist Wednesday night in USA South action.

The Monarchs used a 14-3 run midway through the first period to take control of the contest.

TT Taylor led Methodist (7-6, 4-2) with 12 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the floor. She also contributed 6 rebounds. Six different players scored 7 or more points for the winners. Jordan Tyson came off the bench and scored 9 points in 10 minutes.

The inside game was a problem for Peace (1-12, 0-6), which was outrebounded 45-28 in the game. The Monarchs owned a 30-16 lead in points in the paint and a 15-2 edge in second-chance points.

Crystal Alston led the Pacers with 13 points while reserve Mia Sloan added 11 points in 18 minutes, albeit with 4 turnovers.

Peace concludes its four-game road trip with a visit to Danville Saturday to take on the Averett Cougars, with tipoff slated for 2:00 PM.
