Soccer Drops First to Spirits

Winston-Salem, NC—The Pacers soccer squad dropped their first of the season 9-3 on the road at Salem College.  Peace will look to even the series in Sunday’s rematch at the Meredith tournament.

Veteran Haley Bright (Snow Hill, NC) scored two for Peace and senior Harlonda Smith (Huntersville, NC) added her goal to get the Pacers on the board in today’s loss.

Salem jumped out to an early lead in the first minutes of the game.  Peace would not score until late in the period and take the teams into the intermission with Salem up 5-1.  The Spirits scored two quick goals in the second half before the Pacers pressured the defense with two of their own.

Salem outshot the Pacers 24-14, including 10 corner kicks to Peace’s single.
Join Peace across town Saturday for a 3:00 pm matchup versus Agnes Scott College on Meredith’s campus.  See you on the sidelines!
