Wasps Sting the Pacers
Emory, VA-Peace dropped a close 2-1 match to the Emory and Henry Wasps today in Emory, VA. The Pacers hold at 0-4 overall. Emory and Henry improved to 4-1 with the win.
The Wasps picked up their first goal early in the match by Nikki Greco, unassisted. With just over 10 minutes left in period one, the Emory and Henry keeper scored an own goal to get Peace on the board.
Loren Favele sealed the win for the hosts at twelve minutes after intermission. She was assisted by Kellie Flaherty.
Peace keeper Sherry Revels (Apex, NC) earned eight saves in the loss, her second this season. First-year forward Melissa Moran (Raleigh, NC) led her team with three shots. Mary Caitlin Smith (Lumberton, NC) earned two.
The Pacers host Randolph College Saturday, September 19, at WakeMed Soccer Park (#4) in the team's home opener. First kick slated for 4:00 pm. See you on the sidelines!
