Pacers Shut Out in Greensboro
Greensboro, NC-The Pride of Greensboro College (8-6-1, 5-1-1 USAS) shut out the Peace College (1-13, 1-6 USAS) soccer team in today's 4-0 USA South loss.
GC's first score came at 36:31 on a breakaway from Meredith Kelly. She was assisted by Tessa Hall to get the hosts on the board. Hall earned her second assist of the match on a goal by Cara Wilcox to give her team a 2-0 lead at the break.
Greensboro scored twice more early in the second period to seal the 4-0 shutout.
Peace's Sherry Revels (Apex, NC) notched 13 saves in the win. The Pride's keeper Katie Allegro picked up her sixth shutout of the season without recording a save as the Pacers were left with only two opportunities at the net during 90 minutes of play. Melissa Moran (Raleigh, NC) earned both shots for Peace.
The Pacers close out the season versus Meredith College Friday night at Meredith in the rivals' breast cancer awareness pink game. First kick is slated for 7:00 pm. See you on the sidelines dressed in pink!
