Monarchs Close Down Pacers Early

Fayetteville, NC-Methodist University (9-8-1. 5-2-1 USAS) knocked off the Peace College Pacers (1-14, 1-7 USAS) soccer team with an 8-0 shutout in Fayetteville.

A quick goal by Danielle Minichello in the opening seconds of play gave the Monarchs a 1-0 lead that would carry to the intermission.  Whitney Roberson assisted on the play.

The hosts maintained control of the game after the break with a goal from Kayla Mu Hahn just 50 seconds after the opening whistle.  Minichello notched two more goals at 53:17 then just over a minute later.  She would score once more in her seven shots on the day.

Two more Monarchs, Jillian Reed and Lauren Colenda, each put a notch on the score board for Methodist to finish off Peace.

Sherry Revels (Apex, NC) earned 12 saves for the Pacers.  Her counterpart Sara Altman tallied two saves to earn her shutout for MU.

Peace faces a tough challenge Friday night, October 30, against league-leader Meredith College.  First kick is slated for 7:00 pm at Meredith's Athletic Field.  Wear pink to show your support of this breast cancer awareness event.  See you on the sidelines!
