Moran Named to League SAAC

Newport News, VA -- The USA South Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) met February 26-27, 2010, for its annual conference.  The event was held in conjunction with the league's men's and women's basketball tournaments at Christopher Newport University and this year's inaugural Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Peace College first-year soccer player Melissa Moran was appointed the secretary of the USA South SAAC during Saturday's business session.  Moran was recently appointed as secretary to the Peace College SAAC board as well.  Leilani Ostiguy and Allison Gilmore serve the Pacer SAAC as president and vice president, respectively.

Two representatives from each conference member's SAAC joined together Friday night for an educational workshop with Certified Life Coach Stephanie Zonars.  The group discovered how common temperaments impact team unity. 

The conference organization held the annual business session Saturday morning to discuss conference and NCAA issues concerning student-athletes.
