Lions down Pacers in soccer

Raleigh, N.C. – One day after snapping their 13-game losing streak, the Peace Pacers came out on the wrong end of an 11-1 score in their soccer game versus the Piedmont Lions.

Piedmont (6-0-1) set the tone early as Laura Goodwin scored just 3:27 into the match.  Peace battled back to force a tie when Reba Hodge scored the first goal of her college career.

But that was the highlight for the Pacers, who seemed a step behind the Lions all game. In addition to being the quicker team, Piedmont displayed some fancy footwork and did a better job passing the ball to open teammates than any team Peace played previously this year.

Meghan Heim had three goals to lead the Lions while Nikki Means and Macie Rooke had two goals apiece.

Peace (1-6) will try to get back on the winning side when it travels to Greensboro to take on the Pride in a USA South match on Saturday, September 24th at 2:00 PM.
