Fayetteville, N.C. – It was a tough weekend for the Peace College Soccer team. On Saturday, the Pacers lost a 6-0 game to the Greensboro Pride and on Sunday, Peace dropped a 10-0 decision to the Methodist Monarchs.
Saturday's game was moved to a different site at a different time due to weather issues in Greensboro, which endured heavy rains. The 7:00 PM start on an artificial turf field proved no advantage for the Pacers, who gave up four goals in the first period and two more in the second. Peace managed just two shots in the game.
Things did not get any better Sunday in Fayetteville. Once again the home team jumped out to a four-goal lead in the opening period. And there was no let-up in the second period, as Methodist added six more goals in the final 45 minutes. Meanwhile, the Pacers managed just one shot in the contest.
Peace (1-8) returns to action Friday, when it travels to Columbia (S.C.) to take on the Fighting Koalas.
