Raleigh, N.C. – The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels downed the Peace Pacers, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in a game at Koka Booth Stadium.
It was a disheartening loss for the Pacers, whose only win in 2010 came on the road versus the Squirrels.
A scoreless game at halftime, the two teams seemed to be evenly matched. But in the second half the visitors pushed the attack more aggressively and just seemed to want the game more than the Pacers did.
Aisha Williams broke the tie when she scored at 72:33 and any hopes that Peace could tie the game ended less than five minutes later, when Caitlin Novak made it 2-0.
The Pacers (1-11) try to end their six-game losing streak Sunday, when they host the Shenandoah Hornets at 2:00 PM.
