Soccer blanked by Battling Bishops

Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops jumped on top early and coasted to a 6-0 win over the Peace Pacers Saturday afternoon at Koka Booth Stadium.

Courtney Jamieson and Josie Adams had two goals apiece for the visitors while Rebecca Staylor had a goal and three assists.

The two schools came in with matching 1-14 records and the game was closer than the final score indicated. Daisy Vasilko, who is among the Division III leaders in saves, let up a couple of soft goals early and the Pacers had several good scoring opportunities but came away empty.

The Pacers return to action Sunday when they host Christopher Newport at 2:00 PM. The Captains evened their record at 6-6-1 with a 5-1 win at Meredith on Saturday.
