Michelle "Shelley" Howell joined the Pacer soccer staff this fall as the assistant coach and looks forward to sharing her passion and love of the game with her team.

Howell graduated from Waldorf College, Forest City, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science in Wellness. She was a triple-sport student-athlete with the Warriors, adding golf and club rugby to her sports résumé.

While at Waldorf, Howell served as the assistant and goalkeeper coach at Clear Lake High School in Iowa. She also managed the team's strength and conditioning program. In addition Howell coached with the Mason City, Iowa parks and recreation youth soccer program.

Initially a field player, Howell developed into a top-level goalie at the high school, club and intercollegiate level during her 20 years of play. Howell continues to play competitively, most recently completing a three-year tenure with the Charlotte Women's Soccer League in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A recent transport from Charlotte, Howell will continue her employment with Walgreen's as a certified pharmacy technician.
