Peace Tennis Drops to 2-5 Overall With Loss To William Smith

Raleigh, NC – The Peace College tennis team dropped to 2-5 on the season falling to William Smith College today 0-9.

In doubles action, the Pacers dug themselves a hole they could not climb out of dropping all three doubles matches. Liza Bridgers/Anna Hesmer fell to Chelsea Rauk/Tara Ware 8-1 at #1 doubles. Ellen Smith/Denishia Crave (#2) and Lucy Mauney/Kristen Robison (#3) both lost in straight sets 8-0.

Liza Bridgers was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at #1 singles by Chelea Rauk. Anna Hesmer dropped the #2 singles match to Tara Ware 6-1, 6-1. At #3, Ellen Smith was defeated by Meghan Kelly 6-1, 6-0. Kristen Robison dropped the #4 match 6-1, 6-2 and Lucy Mauney (#5) lost to Wilson’s Samantha Schraeter 6-1, 6-0. Cory Turner defeated Denishia Craven 6-1, 6-0.

The Pacers will travel to Staunton, VA to take on Mary Baldwin in non-conference action on Sunday.
